Elizabeth Seton High School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Deirdre Council Ellis ‘88 has joined the Admissions team as the new Associate Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment
Elizabeth Seton High School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Deirdre Council Ellis ‘88 has joined the Admissions team as the new Associate Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment. Deirdre has over 15 years of experience in various educational leadership roles throughout the District of Columbia Public School system, including Special Education Coordinator, Compliance Specialist, Residential Coordinator, and most recently, Director of Student Services. In each role, she assisted the most vulnerable student populations achieve their academic goals. Her love for education and watching students thrive is what motivates her.
Dr. Lisa Grillo, President, says “Deirdre brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a teacher and school leader. Her work in public and charter schools, coupled with her background in Catholic education, will be of great benefit to Seton. We are excited to have her on board.”
Deirdre earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a Master's degree from Trinity Washington University. A graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School, she played in the band and participated in numerous activities as a student. She is proud and excited to return home to the community that laid the foundation for her professional career. “It is a pleasure to return to the institution that laid the foundation for my academic and professional career. While at Elizabeth Seton I made lifelong friends who continue to be a supportive community of sisterhood. I am excited about the prospect of continuing to help cultivate young ladies into empowered young women."
Deirdre lives in Upper Marlboro, Maryland with her husband Donye; her three beautiful children Destiny, Diamond, and Dylan; and Duke, the family dog.
