A Tradition of Achievement
Since 1959, the Daughters of Charity have owned and operated Elizabeth Seton High School as a place where young women are empowered to learn, lead, and serve others. Their creativity, talents, and enthusiasm are nurtured and challenged as they prepare to take their places as tomorrow's leaders. For more than 50 years, ESHS has inspired young women to reach their goals, opened their minds to diverse people and ideas, and prepared them to adapt and succeed in the future. A Seton education is an investment that yields benefits for a lifetime.
The seton advantage
At Seton, girls take center stage and occupy every role. An all-girls school provides an environment where female students can express themselves freely, and develop higher cognitive skills, increased self-confidence, and broader interests. Seton focuses on the educational needs of girls – a group currently under-represented in stem majors and careers. Girls’ school graduates are 6x more likely to consider majoring in math, science, and technology, and 3x more likely to consider engineering careers, compared to girls in co-ed schools. They also have heightened career aspirations and tend to hold more leadership positions than their co-ed peers.
Elizabeth Seton is proud to offer its students pre-career programs that provide them with the opportunity to test their interest and aptitude. Seton offers programs in Law and a mock trial team; in a STEM program entitled, Learning Engineering and Design (LEAD); and in the only Maryland State accredited Pharmacy Technician Program in a college preparatory high school.
