Seton Inducts Law Academy Students and Welcomes New Board Member

On October 5th, we inducted 21 new students into the Agnes M. Brown Law Academy.

As part of entrance into the program, Elizabeth Seton High School traditionally holds a formal Law Induction on the first Monday of October, the day that the United States Supreme Court generally reconvenes after its summer recess. At this Induction, students receive their Scales of Justice Pin, symbolizing their commitment to justice, integrity, and respect. Typically, many dedicated judges and attorneys join us for the ceremony as a way to show their respect for the law profession and their support of our students. While the induction was held under different circumstances this year, we continued this tradition.

Thank you to keynote speaker and new Seton Board Member Attorney Kia Scipio, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Ropes & Gray LLP, who attended the ceremony and to Sarah Freeman Proctor, Office of the States Attorney St. Mary’s County, Portia Gant, National Labor Relations Board and Rizwan A. Qureshi, Partner, Reed Smith, LLP, who joined us virtually to offer words of inspiration and encouragement to our students.
