Class of 2019 Profile: Rebecca S.

This spring, we congratulate Rebecca S., who will continue her lacrosse career at Division II Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC! Rebecca has been a leader both in the classroom and on the lacrosse field at Elizabeth Seton High School.

A true stand-out, Rebecca has been a four-year member of the Seton Varsity Lacrosse team and also plays for Uproar Lacrosse (Prince George’s County). At Seton's recent Athletic Awards Ceremony, she was awarded the Scholar-Athlete Award, given to the senior who is a two-sport athlete with the highest GPA. In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society and a Presidential Achievement Award Winner, Rebecca also lives her faith by serving as a youth group leader, being a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Pro-Life Club.

About choosing Belmont Abbey, Rebecca notes that she immediately felt drawn to the team that warmly welcomed her to campus. She knew she wanted a college that offered internship opportunities like those provided at Seton, in hopes of furthering her goal of becoming a Physician’s Assistant. She liked the smaller environment, but also appreciated that the college is close to Charlotte. True to her faith, it was also an important factor that Belmont Abbey shares in the richness of Catholic and Benedictine identity.

Even though classes are over and graduation practice had not yet begun, you could find Rebecca in the gym diligently preparing for the next season and working her way through the packet of workouts provided by her new coach! We wish you all the best of luck next year at Belmont Abbey, Rebecca!
