Our winter sports season is well underway, with our student athletes performing with exceptional results at high levels of competition.
At the National Catholic Swimming and Diving Championship meet, our swimmers, led by coaches Tyler Lucian and Alexis Donoghue, broke three school records. In the 200 IM, Grace Reavis, '18 broke the school record with a time of 2:14.40. In the 100 Backstroke, Grace broke her own record with a time of 1:00.80. In the 400 Freestyle Relay, the team of Tyra Agnew, '20, Lauren Artis, '19, Rajah Gussom, '20 and Grace Reavis, '18 broke the school record with a time of 3:54.15.
In Track and Field news, we would like to congratulate the 4X200M relay team, Danielle Rochester, '18, Felicia Hewitt, '20 Illyana Logan, '19 and Celita Pope, '18 for their invitation to the Dr. Sanders Armory Invitational, one of the biggest track and field meets in the country, with professional and college student/athletes competing. While there are no guarantees for television coverage to include the High School 4x200s, currently NBCSN plans to cover the highlights from the entire Invitational this Saturday, January 27th (the delayed show will air at 5pm-7pm).
Well done, Roadrunners!
