Superior Ratings at Prince George's County Band and Orchestra Festival

Elizabeth Seton's Instrumental groups received Superior Ratings ("Best Possible Performance") at Prince George's County Band and Orchestra Festival. To participate in this festival, bands and orchestras from secondary schools in Prince George's County perform three concert selections. The purpose of the assessment is to display knowledge and ability of how to perform selected concert music in the style and interpretation of the composer. Two of the selections must be selected from the Maryland Band Director's Association (MBDA) or Maryland Orchestra Director's Association (MODA) list. A panel of three adjudicators from outside of Prince George's County Public Schools grade each group on stage.

Specific distinction was awarded to the following groups:

Concert Band with Beginning Brass: three Superior Ratings and one Excellent rating;

Orchestra: Superior ratings from all four judges playing in one of the toughest programs in the county;

Wind Ensemble: Superior ratings from every judge in every category.

Congratulations to Dr. Brad Tatum and his students for their excellent performance at the Festival and for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
