It has been an exciting month for our instrumental music students at Elizabeth Seton High School!

This year, 11 out of 12 students were accepted into the competitive WAMTC (Washington Archdiocese Music Teacher's Council) Honors Orchestra:

Alexandra J. '18, Violin

Tailor H. '18, Violin

Mary-Rose '19, Violin

Megan K '19, Violin

Emma Y '21, Violin

Jordanne S. '21, Violin

Elizabeth T. '18, Cello

Miranda M. '19, Cello

Leonida R. '18, Flute

Tyler A. '18, Clarinet

Betsy B. '18, Bassoon

Next, a record 41 members of our instrumental music department performed at Prince Georges County's Solo and Ensemble Festival. From a variety of solos, duets, and trios, 22 soloists/groups received Superior Ratings and 9 received ratings of Excellent. We commend all of these musicians for performing under pressure as soloists and chamber musicians!

Lastly, congratulations to Betsy B. '18 for being selected to the Senior High All-State Band. Dr. Brad Tatum, Director of Seton's Instrumental Music Program, says of Betsy, "All-State is incredibly competitive and Betsy has now officially proven herself to be one of the best High School bassoonists in the entire state of Maryland!"

Congratulations to all our talented musicians.

Excitement is high and commitment is strong for a new performing arts center that will benefit our students, the neighboring community and generations to come. To Take a Closer Look and to read more about the plans for the renovation and make your contribution, please click here.
