Update from Athletic Director Candy Cage '81

All of our Elizabeth Seton High School student-athletes on our Fall Teams were able to come to campus to train September through November. Our Cross-country team was able to compete in four meets, and we were thrilled this could happen for them!
Our Indoor Track & Field team has successfully competed in five indoor meets and they recently headed to Virginia Beach to compete. While quite different from meets pre-pandemic, now our student-athletes enter the facility, stretch, run in their event, then exit- but it seems to be working!
Seton’s Varsity Basketball team has played in four games and are 4-1 overall. They defeated our cross-town rival, McNamara, this past Saturday!
Our Indoor Lacrosse team is competing in a league at the Capital Sportsplex in Glenn Dale on Sundays.
Sadly, along with Head Swim Coach Alexis Donoghue, we had to officially cancel our high school swim season, as we simply could not find a pool in which to practice! Telling our Seniors is always difficult, but many of them are swimming on their club teams. We appreciate their commitment and dedication.
Other teams such as Crew and Cheer, have been working out virtually.
Beginning Feb.16, we will begin an actual Fall Sports season, which will include Volleyball, Soccer, Field Hockey and Tennis.
Trainer Mike and our unbelievable coaching staff have worked super hard to make all of this happen safely. Our parents and student athletes are very grateful for these opportunities during these difficult and challenging times!
