Seton Welcomes New Teaching Faculty
We are pleased to announce the hiring of new faculty members who will join our community at Elizabeth Seton High School this year: Mary Crane (English), Robert Pitts (Science) and Cara Knieser (Mathematics).
We are pleased to announce the hiring of new faculty members who will join our community at Elizabeth Seton High School this year.
Mary Crane joins the English faculty to teach all levels of English, including World Literature and American Literature. Mrs. Crane has a significant teaching history that includes having received Catholic School Teacher of the Year distinction for her tenure at both Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Mark’s. She is a Maryland certified English teacher, holding a BA in English Literature from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Her daughter, Nell, is a 2016 graduate of Elizabeth Seton High School, and currently attends Northern Arizona University.
We also welcome Robert Pitts to the Science Department to teach Chemistry. Mr. Pitts holds a BS in Chemistry Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a M.Ed. in Science Supervision from George Mason University. He has done extensive science curriculum design, serving on committees at the State and County level. Mr. Pitts also has a storied athletic coaching career, having coached basketball, volleyball and football, and was recently inducted into the Thomas Stone Athletic Hall of Fame.
Cara Knieser will join the Math Department to teach Pre-Calculus and Geometry. Ms. Knieser holds a BS in Mathematics, with a minor in Educational Studies, from the University of Scranton. She has a depth of experience in creating innovative lesson plans and has extensive volunteer experience which includes teaching Vacation Bible School and mission work.
These talented and enthusiastic new teachers are excited to become a part of our community and work with our students. We are delighted to welcome them to Elizabeth Seton High School!
