In addition to tuition and fees, students are required to purchase books and uniforms. New books average $300 per year; a used book sale is held in the summer. Uniforms cost approximately $300-$400 when first purchased. Some used uniform items are made available for purchase at a reduced cost. Transportation and our lunch program is also an additional fee. Tuition rates for the following school year are set annually in late February by the Board of Directors.

  • Special Seton/DeMatha Tuition Discount

    Families receive a $1000 reduction in tuition if a daughter attends Seton and a son attends DeMatha during the same school year.
  • Sibling Discount

    Families receive a $1000 reduction in tuition if an additional daughter attends Seton during the same school year. If a third child attends Seton during the same school year, the family will receive 50% tuition reduction for the third tuition.
  • Need Based Financial Aid

    In keeping with our mission, our aid is primarily distributed on the basis of financial need, though Seton also offers a broad range of merit scholarships to qualified candidates.

Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance

The Archdiocese of Washington has limited funds to distribute to qualified families who demonstrate financial need. To apply for aid from the Archdiocese, families must submit an application, fee, and copies of federal tax returns.

Forms to apply for Archdiocesan aid should be available for online completion in September and can be found by visiting www.adwcatholicschools.org/tuition-assistance. The deadline for Archdiocesan financial aid Saturday, December 1, 2019. Financial aid will not be awarded unless the application is submitted by the deadline.

Elizabeth Seton Assistance

To apply for need-based assistance from Seton, families must apply to the Archdiocese of Washington (See above). Seton also offers financial aid packages to qualifying families.

Scholarships & Loans

  • Seton Scholars

    Elizabeth Seton High School is committed to offering qualified students scholarships through our Seton Scholars Program. The program is designed for academically gifted students who demonstrate high academic achievement and exceptional potential. Achievement is determined by the student's academic transcript and High School Placement Test scores.  The top 10% of our applicant pool is considered for this merit based scholarship. Incoming 9th graders who are accepted into the program receive annual tuition credits between $1,000 and $8,000. Once accepted into the program, all Seton Scholars are placed into one or more academically advanced courses. The Seton Scholars strive to contribute to the Seton community through their service to others and their assistance at school functions. In addition, Seton Scholars contribute through various charitable works. There is no application necessary to be considered for the Scholar’s Program.  Students who qualify for this merit based scholarship will be notified in their acceptance packet February 2020.
  • Work Scholarship Program

    Families in need of financial assistance may apply for Seton's Work Scholarship Program. Work Scholarship participants are assigned on-campus jobs before and after school. In exchange for their services, students earn a stipend that is credited toward tuition. For application information, please click here.
  • Visual and Performing Arts Scholarships

    Vocal Scholarships
    Elizabeth Seton High School offers scholarships to dedicated vocalists. Students can audition in late January before our voice instructor to receive a music scholarship. Scholarships range from $300-$1,200. Click here for vocal scholarship audition details.

    Visual Arts Scholarships
    The Visual Art Department at Elizabeth Seton High School awards creative minds with an Art Department scholarship. Students who wish to be considered for an Art Department Scholarship must create a painting, drawing or digital piece that depicts one of Elizabeth Seton High School’s core values. The six values of Elizabeth Seton High School are academic excellence, unity, integrity, respect, creativity, and service to others. Scholarships range from $100-$500. Families may drop off the art piece to the main office by Thursday, December 12, 2019.

    Dramatic Arts Scholarships
    The Dramatic Arts Department at Elizabeth Seton High School awards young thespians with a theater scholarship. Students who wish to be considered for a Theater Scholarship will perform a monologue of their choice and participate in a brief interview. If chosen, students must participate in the theater program and theater lab during the school year. Scholarships will be up to $1,500. Click here for full audition details.

    Dance Scholarships

  • Loan Programs

    Key Education Resources offers a low cost, flexible way to finance independent school costs. The AchieverLoan is a personal, unsecured loan designed exclusively for education expenses. SLM Financial Corporation, a SallieMae company, offers a similar loan program. Families must apply and be approved for these loans through the companies themselves.
