Thank you for your interest in Elizabeth Seton High School. As the only Catholic high school for young women in Prince George's County, we are able to provide a quality education in an environment that fosters achievement, leadership, and success. We are proud that The Washington Post recognized Elizabeth Seton as one of 10 private schools of distinction in the Washington Metropolitan area. Elizabeth Seton is committed to providing students an integrated program that stresses moral values, academic excellence, civic responsibility, and community service.
The Elizabeth Seton community reflects a broad ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity, contributing to its rich learning environment. Through their interaction with a diverse peer group, students at Elizabeth Seton gain insight and acquire perspective, both of which serve graduates well as they enter the wider, global community. Myriad clubs, musical groups, and sports teams offer students a wide array of opportunities for exploring both familiar and newly acquired interests.
Elizabeth Seton is set on twenty-four private acres and offers comprehensive learning facilities that include a library with Proquest Database and SIRS Knowledge Source subscriptions, three full-sized computer labs with internet access, four science laboratories, a fully staffed Guidance Center, a reflection chapel, an Auditorium, a Cafeteria with daily hot lunch offerings, a 440-Meter Track surrounding the main athletic field, an additional practice field, and a newly opened Fine Arts and Athletic building with a full gymnasium, dance studio, weight room, band room, choral room, and individual music practice rooms.
I encourage you to continue reading through these Admissions web pages as well as the rest of our school's site. I would also like to invite you to attend our annual Open House scheduled for Sunday, November 4th at 12:00 p.m. Open House provides an invaluable opportunity to tour our school and to meet our students, teachers, parents, coaches, and administrators. Shadow visits are also recommended for students interested in attending our school, and a visit can be scheduled online or by calling the Admissions Office directly.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or phone me. As a graduate of the school and a former teacher here, I am proud to be a member of the Seton Community and look forward to assisting you in your high school search.
Sincerely,
Dawn Schiavone '92
