Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to present to you this Annual Report for 2006-2007. This has been an exciting and rewarding year for Elizabeth Seton High School. The Center for Sports and Fine Arts was completed in early August. Classes have been held in the new space since the opening day of school, August 23, and a Mass of Thanksgiving and Dedication was held on September 14.

The building was complete ahead of schedule and with few complications. If you have not already done so, I invite you to visit for a tour. I know you will be pleased. So many of our graduates, parents and friends have contributed to the building that we have almost reached our goal. The Athletic and Music Boosters have assisted greatly with the furnishings for their respective areas. If you have not had an opportunity to make a donation, please contact Maureen McCart, Director of Institutional Advancement, for information. I have asked Maureen to include Naming Opportunities in this report for your perusal.

Other news for the 2006-2007 school year includes the music students who placed first in several competitions, local as well as national. The Gospel Choir placed first in the PathMark competition in New York City. The track team won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship for 2007 and the cheerleading team received the “most improved” trophy.

As I mentioned in the latest edition of SetonNotes, our graduates received over $6,000,000 in academic scholarships to outstanding colleges and universities. We continue to be very proud of our students and their accomplishments.

Thanks to all who have assisted us in any way during this past year. There are so many good things happening. I cannot say enough about our gratitude to those who have helped us during the Campaign Lighting Our Future. I also want to thank those who have contributed to the Annual Appeal, which has shown higher participation than usual.

Truly we are proud of our graduates, students and loyal friends. The record is strong and the proof is in the results. Saint Elizabeth Ann continues to watch over us and guide us.

Very Sincerely,
Sister Virginia Ann
